Applying for Permits Online Disabled

Due to technical difficulties, the ability to apply for permits online is temporarily disabled. The other features of Permit Sonoma are still available. In the meantime, you can still apply by coming to the PRMD offices in-person. We are working on the problem and will restore full service as soon as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Permit Sonoma Online Permitting Tool

Permit Sonoma has replaced Velocity Hall Permit Manager. Permit Sonoma enables homeowners and businesses in unincorporated Sonoma County to more effectively participate in the permitting process.

With Permit Sonoma, you can perform the following online:

  • Search for existing permits on a property.
  • Check the status of a permit.
  • Pay permit fees.1  3
  • Schedule field inspections.1 (Alternative to Selectron.)
  • Find out your zoning information.
  • Utilize the built-in mapping tool.2
  • And more!

Important System Information

1Registration is required for this feature. Non-registered users will have access to portions of Permit Sonoma. But you need to be a registered user to fully utilize all of the features. If you were previously registered with Velocity Hall Permit Manager, you will need to re-register with Permit Sonoma in order to submit permit applications or make payments online.

2The mapping tool is currently only compatible with web browsers that support Microsoft Silverlight. Google Chrome is compatible with other features of Permit Sonoma, but not the mapping tool.

3Payments cannot yet be made online for Septic Operational Permits (OPR). Please mail a check or call the Well & Septic section.

Note: Information is current through and including June 9, 2016 only. Information on permits opened or updated after June 9 is not available at this link. Once the Permit Sonoma tool is available on June 13, you will be able to use it to search permits for more recent updates.
