Petaluma Sebastopol Trail (Proposed)

What & Why?

Regional Parks is proposing to develop a 13-mile paved trail connecting Petaluma and Sebastopol. This off-road trail would provide bicycling, walking, jogging and other recreational and commuting opportunities for residents of Petaluma, Sebastopol, and unincorporated areas such as Hessel and Cunningham.

Trails connecting cities promote healthy communities, access to schools and businesses, the reduction of traffic and greenhouse gases, and are a safer alternative to bicycling or walking on roads. 

What's Next?

The public workshops to solicit input on the draft Petaluma Sebastopol Trail Feasibility Study have been completed. No additional workshops are scheduled at this time.

On February 13, 2018, the County Board of Supervisors accepted the findings and recommendations of Petaluma Sebastopol Trail Feasibility Study. Regional Parks will pursue grant opportunities and other means of funding to develop the proposed trail improvements and alternatives recommended in the feasibility study.
