Get Involved

Community Workshop #1

The November 18, 2015 workshop encouraged public participation by presenting an overview of the Lawson expansion property and the master plan process. A handful of community members, park neighbors, and park users participated in the workshop. Attendees were encouraged to participate by working together in small groups and sharing their interests and concerns. The comments are being compiled by the master plan team to help develop the Plans for the park that will be presented to the public in early spring of 2016.

Community Workshop #2

At the May 19, 2016 workshop, participants received a presentation on the preferred plan. Information was presented to the public that addressed Hood Mountain Regional Park & Open Space Preserve resources and limitations, specifically with sensitivity to biological resources. The Project Manager discussed the outcome of design requests received at the first public meeting and how those were incorporated into the final trail design, as well as describing possible changes to existing structures on the Lawson Addition. Attendees were excited about being able to explore the new trails.
