What & Why?
After several years attempting without success to acquire additional property to construct the next phase of improvements, Regional Parks is working with Caltrans to potentially provide a secondary access from Highway 116 until a more permanent entry can be constructed.
The proposed entrance from the Highway 116 bridge will provide access to east side of the park where we will be constructing additional parking, picnic sites, and paths, along with a boat launch ramp and turn-around area.
We hope to complete preliminary engineering and design for the improvements in the next 4-6 months, and then will begin the regulatory permit consultation process, which is anticipated to take another 6-9 months. Construction will be scheduled when permits and approvals are received, which is anticipated to be in the Summer of 2018.
