Hold your place in line and save time. You may now remotely join the line or make an appointment for Permit Sonoma services.* Join the line or make appointments from home or work, and when it's your turn, come to the main Permit Center to check in.
Join the line remotely in one of three ways. On this page:
*You may only join the line when the main Permit Center is open. View open hours.
Web Browser
You can join the line on a personal computer, laptop, or mobile device. A cell phone capable of text messaging (SMS) is required in order to receive updates via text. (Standard data and text messaging rates may apply.)
Join the Main Permit Center Line
Regular permits, plus non-residential, post-fire rebuild permits:
Rebuilding After Major Wildfire
Go to the Resiliency Permit Center for rebuilding residential properties after one of the major wildefires.
Mobile App
You can join the line on your Android or iOS mobile device via the QLess Mobile App. With this app, you can see your place in line in real time and receive updates via text. (Standard data and text messaging rates may apply.)

Using the App
Select "Permit Sonoma, County of Sonoma - Permit and Resource Managment Department" from the list.
Important: The City of Santa Rosa also utilizes the QLess Mobile App, so please make sure to select the correct jurisdiction.

Follow prompts.
Additional QLess Text Commands
L - Leave the queue
Use this command when you need to exit a particular queue.
S – Status update
Use this command when you want an update of your wait time and place in line.
M – More time
Use this command to request additional time if you can't be in the area. (Maximum 2 times.)
H – Help
Use this command to get additional assistance with QLess texting.
N# – Notify # minutes before
Use this command to let QLess know how many minutes before your turn to send an alert. Enter N and the number of minutes.
