Freestone Zoning and Land Use Corrections

Permit Sonoma's Planning Division is reviewing the land use designation and zoning of the 29 properties that make up the community of Freestone. It has come to the County's attention that due to a mapping error made in 1989, some of the 29 properties were inappropriately zoned for commercial uses.

Objectives

  • Engage the community and receive input on the appropriate land use designations and zoning.
  • Identify and preserve land use of historic commercial and residential properties.
  • Eliminate the land use discrepancies and conflict between the General Plan and zoning.

Community Workshop

Planning staff hosted a community workshop on November 2, 2017, in order to receive public input on upcoming zoning corrections for Freestone. The workshop was held at the Salmon Creek Fall Environmental Education Center, 1935 Bohemian Highway, Occidental.
