Santa Rosa, CA – April 10, 2017 – Sonoma County will hold an Airport Area Specific Plan Public Workshop on Thursday April 13th, 5:30-7:30 PM, at the Windsor High School Library. Attendees will explore land use, circulation, and public improvements to the Airport Area over the next 20 years.
The public is invited to participate in a collaborative planning process to create a new vision for the area, including the introduction of SMART. The workshop will identify potential improvements to the area’s land uses, amenities, street improvements, and public investments. “Feedback from workshop attendees will help define the vision for the Airport Area,” said Sonoma County Supervisor James Gore, “We encourage the public to weigh in on important factors such as climate adaptation, health policy goals, and traffic patterns tied to the airport and the newly built SMART platform.”
Input from this workshop will be incorporated into the update of the Airport Area Specific Plan, which implements Sonoma County’s General Plan as applied to this geographic area. This plan will be then be made available for public review, with final adoption slated for spring 2018.
