Grant Opportunity for Environmental Stewardship and Resource Management

Announcement and Description

Permit Sonoma is pleased to announce this grant opportunity to support the County of Sonoma’s goals for environmental stewardship, climate protection, and resource management. This grant program of up to $100,000 is intended to fund, partially or in whole, an educational program within Sonoma County.

Funding Priorities

Applicants will be selected based upon their capacity to utilize grant funds towards educational opportunities that develop workplace competencies. In particular competencies related to the fields of energy and water resource management and technical career programs with a preference towards hands-on learning, work based educational approaches, and industry focused training. Additionally, partnerships with local agencies, businesses, and government institutions are strongly encouraged.

Evaluation Criteria

  • Have organizational mission that aligns with the funding priorities stated above.
  • Have goals, implementation timeline and proposal that are clearly defined and achievable.
  • Demonstrate a history of similar career focused educational programs within Sonoma County.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligible applicants shall be non-profits located within Sonoma County and funds granted must directly serve Sonoma County residents. Applicant’s organization must align with the non-discriminatory practices of the County of Sonoma.
