The County of Sonoma has set up a hotline for unincorporated Sonoma County homeowners who have lost their homes in the Sonoma County Complex Fires. As recovery efforts are underway, we will continue to provide resources for rebuilding, including the latest information for permits and property tax assessments. Our goal is to institute a streamlined and expedited approach so our community can recover and rebuild as quickly as possible. This video provides a quick overview of the four phases of rebuilding and videos for each of the phases are soon to follow.

    Acceptance and processing of applications for new vacation rental permits will be suspended for an additional 60 days (beginning December 5, 2017). The suspension is issued via ordinance by the Board of Supervisors to facilitate emergency housing for persons displaced by the Sonoma Complex Fire. The moratorium no longer includes hosted rentals or new vacation rental permits in the Russian River Planning Area. The suspension may be extended by the Board of Supervisors. More Information

    By the authority of the Chief Building Official (SCC 7-13 (A)(6), CPC 1.8.4.1), work performed by the property owner or a qualified professional to repair or replace fire damaged septic system components listed below in-kind does not require a permit from Permit Sonoma.  A qualified professional is a Civil Engineer, Environmental Health Specialist, or Contractor with “A”, “C-36” or “C-42” license.  Qualified professionals must be currently licensed or registered in the State of California.
