phone-handset-iconStarting August 29, 2016 Sonoma County’s Economic Assistance Service Center reduces client call-in hours to peak times, 9 AM – 3:30 PM, while increasing the number of eligibility workers answering calls about Medi-Cal, CalFresh and General Assistance benefits. The changes are expected to cut the time callers are on hold before connecting with Service Center Eligibility Workers.

The Service Center phone number remains (877) 699-6868. Once connected, callers select their language preference and the service needed from an automated menu. Callers on hold at 3:30 should stay on the line, Seamans says, as even after Service Center phone hours end, their calls will be answered.

In-person service hours at the Economic Assistance offices at 520 Mendocino Avenue and 2550 Paulin Avenue, Santa Rosa,. remain the same, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. However, clients using on-site lobby phones to contact eligibility workers must do so during the new Service Center hours, 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
