AAA Advisory Council

A 21-member Advisory Council to the Area Agency on Aging makes recommendations to the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors regarding issues and concerns affecting seniors, adults with disabilities and their caregivers. Ten members are appointed by the Board of Supervisors and 11 are elected by the Advisory Council to represent the county's geographic areas and special population groups. 

The programs and direction of the Council is represented in the Area Plan and Community Report(PDF) that is published every four years. Current concerns described in the Plan include: ease of access to services, access to transportation, affordable housing, accessible health care, caregiver support, elder abuse prevention and services for special populations, such as LGBT seniors.
