The Board of Supervisors approved actions to identify more medium- to long-term indoor/outdoor homeless shelters and navigation centers.

Background

On December 23, the Board of Supervisors gave direction for County staff to stand an indoor-outdoor shelter within 180 days or less. This will be a medium- to long-term indoor/outdoor shelter and navigation center, and may include a combination of on-site structures, RV hook-ups, and safe parking.

A stakeholder engagement meeting for specific design elements of the indoor-outdoor shelters sites was held on Friday, January 3, 2020. The County is currently in the process of identifying potential locations for these sites based on Board approve criteria.
