Community Stakeholder Convening Meeting

Group meeting 1On Friday January, 3 2020 the Community Development Commission (CDC) and the Department of Health Services (DHS) hosted a stakeholder meeting with the goal of informing site features, configurations, and services at two future indoor-outdoor homeless shelters in Sonoma County.

This meeting lasted from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM with more than 70 in attendance and included stakeholders such as homeless services providers, advocates, individuals with lived experience of homelessness, community stakeholders who possess expertise in the field, and members of the public. Stakeholders worked in small table groups for three rounds of breakout questions.

Feedback from this meeting will support a Request for Proposals (RFP) from the County seeking site locations and possible services. The RFP for the Indoor-Outdoor Shelter will be released on January 7, 2020.

The County has a strong commitment to provide a path to permanent stable housing for all people experiencing homelessness. The Sonoma County Community Development Commission is the lead agency charged with preventing and ending homelessness.
