Need Healthcare Coverage? Covered California Open Enrollment, Renewals Have Started

Covered California allows residents to buy brand-name, private health insurance under the federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. While anyone can buy health insurance through Covered California, eligibility for financial help to pay for care is based on income. Covered California offers plans for small businesses and their employees too.

  • Learn about health plan options and apply 
  • Find out if you're eligible for California's low-/no-cost Medi-Cal program instead
  • Learn about health care plans for small businesses

Open enrollment for Covered California is November 1, 2017- January 31, 2018.

Sign up before December 15 to have health coverage starting on January 1, 2018.

Renew your Covered California plan between October 11-December 15, 2017

If you already have a Covered California health plan, renew in order to have coverage starting January 1, 2018. 

Those in Anthem Blue Cross are covered through the end of 2017, but will need to renew with a different health plan – Anthem will no longer offer coverage in Sonoma County.

In Sonoma County, these companies offer health plans:

  • Blue Shield
  • Health Net Life
  • Kaiser Permanente
  • Western Health Advantage

  • By phone at (888) 975-1142, Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 8 p.m., and Saturday 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
