    Our work on the Field of Dreams has begun! Just when we were slated to begin work in October 2017, our focus dramatically shifted to the fire response. Let us help you take care of your dog and cat moms (with litters) through our Momma Fix program. We will spay your momma dog or momma cat for FREE when you relinquish their litter of puppies or kittens to us to prepare for adoption.     It was during the hottest days of August 2015, when a light bulb lit up over Nan Sanchez-Cook’s head. She was outside in the play yards of the Sonoma County Animal Services building off Airport Boulevard in sweltering heat, hosing down the gravel in the yard, so that the dogs could come outside to exercise without burning their feet, when epiphany struck.

    July 4th fireworks are a “blast” for people, but they’re terrifying for pets. Shelters like ours fill up after fireworks events because animals--terrified by the noise--flee in order to try to escape. Confused, they may hide (cats) or be unable to find their way home and end up at the shelter or hit by a car.
