Adopt a Horse

Animal Services partners with the Sonoma County CHANGE Program to address equine neglect, abuse and cruelty cases. CHANGE provides housing, transportation, veterinary care, training, rehabilitation and adoption services to horses who enter the CHANGE Program.

The Sonoma County CHANGE Program is a state and federally accredited 501c(3) organization (EIN 26-2135318) that has been helping horses in Sonoma County since 2007. CHANGE assists Sonoma County Animal Services with equine humane cases by providing 24/7 on-call equine transport, foster and rehabilitative care, and adoption services for horses taken in to custody.

In addition, CHANGE provides training to animal control officers on a wide variety of equine-related subjects. The organization is supported entirely by private donations.
