The Foundational and Supervisory Certificate Programs have been a runaway success. Since Workforce Development was relaunched in 2014, 48 of your colleagues have received their Foundational Certificate and 27 people are proud recipients of a Supervisory Certificate. Classes in each certificate level are found below.

On the Planning for Success Spiral the courses for each certificate series are color-coded and listed in the order that it is recommended they be taken for optimal learning. But since we are focused on your success and we want you in the classroom, you can take the classes in an order that best fits your schedule except for those which have a prerequisite.

As you build your knowledge skills and abilities, you can track the classes you have completed by accessing your transcript in SCORS

If you need guidance, your manager or Workforce Development can assist you to determine which classes are best for you.

We have added an online course available in TargetSolutions, Defeating Unconscious Bias, which is a prerequisite for our Diversity and Inclusion class. We will be relaunching the Diversity and Inclusion class in fall 2018.

You now need to take two electives to round out your learning plan. This should be easy for you as we offer 12 elective classes and plan on adding more. you are also welcome to use TargetSolutions for an online course or Lynda for Libraries to meet this requirement.

Supervisory Certificate Requirements

The big development in the Supervisory Certificate is that you need to take only four classes in the Foundational series. Look for the orange ovals on the Planning for Success Spiral outlined in blue to discover them. You must still complete all of the blue ovals in the Supervisory series.

You will notice that Transitioning to Supervision is now a required class. Ideally, you should take it before Foundations of Supervision I. Please take one elective of your choice to complete your Supervisory Certificate
