The County of Sonoma and SEIU met on February 21, 2018,
at SEIU’s request, to begin successor contract negotiations. SEIU
submitted initial proposals for changes to employee leaves and new employee
orientation procedures. The parties also discussed a schedule for
negotiations and a timeline for having all substantive proposals on the
table. At the end of the meeting, SEIU indicated it was
their objective to have all of their proposals to the County by the third
bargaining session on March 14, 2018.
The parties’ next bargaining
session is scheduled for March 7, 2018.
