Volunteer Opportunities in Search & Rescue Services

The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office has a Search and Rescue (SAR) team to provide additional support in searching for lost and missing persons in the unincorporated areas of Sonoma County, as well as in crime scene evidence searches. Applicants must be comfortable working in the outdoors, be reasonably fit, and able to make a two-year commitment to the team. No prior experience or training is required. Training will be provided.
