Instead of heading into the office, more and more employees are working from home. Teleworking, or working at home, has grown steadily in popularity over the last two decades. U.S. Census Bureau statistics indicate that the number of employees working from home grew 23 percent between 1990 and 2000.
Ask your employer to consider offering the option of working from home. Studies show that when an employee is given the opportunity, production and job satisfaction go up, with the number of cars on the road going down, as well as less impact on the environment.
Telework benefits include:
- Increased productivity
- Reduced absenteeism
- Lower emissions
- Reduced fuel costs
Please see your manager to determine if you are eligible for teleworking.
