  1. Call to Order
    Chairperson Crystal Norris called the meeting to order at 7:04 pm.
  2. Adoption of July 2019 Minutes
    1. Report:  Crystal Norris asks if there are any additions or corrections to the July 2019 minutes. Al Ferris noted a needed change in the July attendance record.
    2. Action: A motion was made by Al Ferris to accept minutes after modification had been made; motion seconded by Dagny Thomas.
    3. Passed with:  10 ayes, 0 nays, 2 absent.

    Fish and Game Commission notices.
  4. Financial Reports for June (final) and July 2019
    1. Report: As of July 31, 2019, the General Fund balance is $38,950.00.
    2. Action: A motion was made by Al Ferris to accept financial reports for July 2019 as presented; motion seconded by Jim Lynch.
    3. Passed with: 10 ayes, 0 nays, 2 absent.
  5. Old Business
    1. Grant Request: Funding for Reef Check California
    2. Report: Tristan McHugh of Reef Check California appeared before the Commissioners to give a presentation and answer questions regarding Reef Check California’s grant request. After a lengthy discussion, the commissioners agreed that this project is important and deserving of a larger grant award than is typical. Second Reading.
    3. Action:Grant approved for $19,882.00.  Grant #205.
    4. Passed with: 10 ayes, 0 nays, 2 absent.
  6. New Business
    1. Grant Request: Funding for Girl Scouts of Northern California
    2. Report: Kate Cowan and Melissa Sherman appeared before the Commissioners to describe their program and answer questions from the commissioners. The Girl Scouts of Northern California are committed to the young people in our area, and are providing STEM curriculum including field trips and hands-on projects directly related to the environment and conservation.  The grant would help supply funding for those activities. First reading.
    3. Action: The second reading will be completed at the October meeting.
  7. Grant Request: Funding for Willow Creek Stage 0 Growth Study, Charlie Schneider
    1. Report: Charlie Schneider appeared before the Commissioners to explain the scope and intention of his project, Willow Creek 0 Growth Study. The project will utilize Passive Integrated Transponder (PIT) tags to obtain information pertaining to Coho salmon and steelhead including winterization location, movement between reaches, and identification for growth measurement. First reading.
    2. Action:  The second reading will be completed at the October meeting.

    3. Note: Several commissioners stated that they are out of town on the date of the scheduled September meeting. The commissioners decided to cancel the September meeting and return in October.
