  • Sonoma County Fire and Emergency Services Department 

    The Emergency Management Division has 125 Auxiliary Communications Service (ACS) volunteers who supplement the County’s emergency communications capabilities in the event of a disaster. These volunteers are registered Disaster Service Workers who provide administrative, technical and operational support for emergency communications between local and state agencies.

    Internships in the Emergency Management Division provide technical and/or administrative assistance in emergency preparedness and planning projects. Ideal candidates will have a strong interest in working within the field of Emergency Management.  Interns can expect to commit to a minimum of 10-20 hours per week for 3 or more months.

  • Emergency Management Training
  • Emergency preparedness information including kits, information for home and business, disaster myths and Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).
  • Sonoma County Operational Area
  • Sonoma County provides free emergency notifications to residents who sign up for the SoCoAlert service.  Residents will receive instructions when there is a local emergency based alert on their geographical through phone calls, text messages, emails and social media.
