EOC/ICP Equipment Test Net Script

Department of Emergency Management Sonoma County 750

The EOC/ICP Equipment Test Net is quarterly, held on a Monday at 7:00 PM on the K6ACS 146.73- (R) 88.5 PL repeater.  This net replaces the Countywide weekly net.

This net is used to test local government owned equipment in Emergency Operations Centers and pre-identified Incident Command Posts throughout the County. Member owned equipment is not utilized during this net.

Italic text in the net script is not to be read unless otherwise stated.

VHF Net Script

This is (name/call), at the (tactical call), Net Control Station for the Sonoma County Operational Area Auxiliary Communications Service.

This is a directed net. All stations should direct their traffic through this Net Control Station. If you have an emergency during the net, indicate so with the words “emergency traffic” on your first key-up.  All operators -please pause after keying the PTT “push to talk” and before you speak, as the links to the coast are up.

This is a quarterly test for the purposes of verifying the operation and functionality of our

ACS radio equipment at the various Emergency Operations Centers and pre-identified Incident Command Posts throughout the County. Please do NOT check into this net using your personal radio equipment. This net is strictly to test local government owned equipment.

When I call your EOC or ICP, please return by acknowledging Net Control with a 1, 2, or 3 indicating the quality of signal heard from Net Control.

One being scratchy, two being an average signal report, or three being it sounds "full quieting" as if I'm right next to you. I'll in turn acknowledge your report and give the same type report as I hear you.

If for some reason you are not able to make contact with Net Control on other bands within a reasonable amount of time, or you have equipment or operator issues, contact net control on this frequency 146.730. Net control will maintain a full time operator here during the radio test to assist stations and log all reports of all equipment and operator issues.
