Rohnert Park Mother and Son Plead no Contest to Pimping/Pandering and Money Laundering

Santa Rosa,CA | August 09, 2018

On August 8, 2018 Defendant David Romesburg entered no contest pleas to felony charges of pimping/pandering, and money laundering, and admitted to having been previously convicted of a strike offense in 1999 for committing statutory rape. Mr. Romesburg faces a sentence of up to sixteen years in the state prison. The amount of time he will spend in state prison will ultimately be decided by the court at the time of sentencing. Mr. Romesburg’s mother, Fay Romesburg entered a no contest plea to one felony charge of pandering and will be sentenced to one year in the county jail followed by three years on felony probation.

District Attorney Ravitch stated, “This was a very well organized business established over several years that profited by sexually exploiting young women. We believe the pleas entered are appropriate and reflect the seriousness of the offenses.”

Over the course of nearly ten years, the Romesburgs operated an extensive prostitution ring in the cities of Rohnert Park and Santa Rosa, involving many dozens of adult women. The mother-son duo orchestrated all aspects of the victims’ sex work in exchange for money, sex and other benefits. Profits were then laundered through various front businesses and financial institutions.

The defendants will be sentenced on October 25, 2018 by the Honorable Bradford DeMeo.

The case was prosecuted by Deputy District Attorneys Laura Passaglia and Alex Fisher and investigated by the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety.
