Defendant Sentenced to 150 Years to Life tor Multiple Counts of Child Molestation

Santa Rosa, CA  –  May 2, 2018  –  District Attorney Jill Ravitch has announced that defendant Paul Dwayne Kilgore, 70, of Sonoma, was sentenced to 150 years to life by the Honorable Judge Robert Laforge. The sentence was issued for charges for which the defendant was convicted at jury trial, which included six counts of child molest. The jury also found true an allegation that Kilgore had committed these offenses against multiple victims, who were under the age of fourteen. The defendant was convicted by a jury on March 20, 2018, after a six day jury trial.

District Attorney Ravitch stated, “This pedophile was finally brought to justice, and will serve a sentence that will prevent him from preying on any more children.”

On August 27, 2016, witness, Nick Egan, observed the defendant in the hot tub a Parkpoint Health Club in Healdsburg. After hearing the defendant talking to two young boys about circumcision, Egan sensed something odd about this interaction, so reported his observations to the front desk of the health club. Law enforcement was then contacted and the investigation led to one of the boys, 11, at Parkpoint disclosing that the defendant had touched his penis on multiple occasions, with the first incident occurring when he was 6 years old. The crimes occurred in the locker rooms at local pools and in the defendant’s bedroom.

Further investigation led to two more victims making disclosures about the defendant. One boy, now 15, disclosed the defendant touched his penis on multiple occasions while, under similar circumstances as the first victim, in the locker room at local swimming pools and in the defendant’s bedroom. These crimes began when this victim was 11.

The third victim, now 16, described four crimes that occurred in the defendant’s bedroom on two separate occasions, all when the victim was 13 years old. In each of the crimes, the victim’s penis was touched by the defendant or by another at the defendant’s request.

The case was prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Javier Vaca, assisted by District Attorney Investigators Kris Allen. The Healdsburg Police Department headed the investigation, led by Officer Craig Smith.
