Santa Rosa, CA – May 12, 2016 – District
Attorney Jill Ravitch has announced that long-time Santa Rosa City Attorney
Caroline Fowler has accepted a position with the Sonoma County District
Attorney’s Office as a Deputy District Attorney in the Office’s Environmental
and Consumer Law Division.
Ms. Fowler has
served as the City Attorney for the City of Santa Rosa for the past 8 years.
Prior to that she served the City as an Assistant City Attorney for
approximately 7 years. She brings to the District Attorney’s Office a
wealth of legal experience and knowledge of the community.

an experienced litigator who has subject matter expertise that will enhance the
services we provide to the community in the areas of consumer and environmental
Ms. Fowler, who
was born in England, and moved to the United States when she was 3 years old,
received her college degree in Communications from California State University
Dominguez Hills, and her law degree with honors from Southwestern School of Law
in Los Angeles. She was hired into the City Attorney’s Office by current
Sonoma County Judge Rene Chouteau.
While at the
City Attorney’s Office Fowler managed a staff of 6 Assistant City Attorneys and
6 support persons. Fowler indicated that she is excited for this new
opportunity and looks forward to returning to her passion for litigation and to
representing the citizens of this community.
