No Contest Plea in Penngrove Homicide

Santa Rosa, CA  –  October 2, 2017  –  District Attorney Jill Ravitch announced that defendant Victor Silva, 29-years-old from Marin County, entered no contest pleas today to first degree murder and home invasion robbery while armed with a firearm for the 2015 murder of Olga Dinelli, an 84 year old resident of Penngrove.

District Attorney Ravitch stated, “This was a cold-hearted and senseless crime against a lifelong Sonoma County resident. Hopefully this resolution will bring some closure to Ms. Dinelli’s family.”

Olga Dinelli was murdered in February of 2015 during a home invasion robbery by Silva and Stephanie Hill. Mr. Silva and Ms. Hill fled Sonoma County immediately after the crime and were later confronted by law enforcement in the State of Arizona, where Ms. Hill was killed during a shoot-out. Mr. Silva was convicted of felony murder in Arizona based on Hill’s death. Silva was then extradited back to Sonoma County to face charges here for the murder of Ms. Dinelli.

Mr. Silva will be sentenced on December 5, 2017 in Department 3 at 1:30 pm by the Honorable Judge Simmonds. He will be sentenced to 41 years to life in State prison.

The case was prosecuted by Chief Deputy District Attorney Brian Staebell and Deputy District Attorney Amy Ariyoshi and investigated by the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Department VCI Detective Gary Freitas.
