Santa Rosa, CA – October 10, 2017 – The District Attorney’s Office joins the rest of the community in shock over the events of the last few days, and we are doing everything we can to support members of our office and the community. While the Superior Court is currently closed, the DA’s Office is open and we are working with our public safety and justice partners. Anyone who has an appearance in court for any reason should contact the Court, or the DA’s Office, tomorrow for further information.
"Please be advised that any looters who are apprehended will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law," District Attorney Jill Ravitch reported. "We understand that most people are providing comfort and support to those who have lost much, and those who still do not know their fate. But those who think this is a time to take advantage of homes that have been evacuated should think again." Please report any suspected looting by calling 9-1-1.
The City of Santa Rosa has issued an Emergency Proclamation establishing a mandatory curfew from 6:45 p.m. until 7:15 a.m. in the area of Mandatory Evacuation Area. The map of the affected area can be found at https://srcity.org/610/Emergency-Information
A violation of the curfew is a misdemeanor.
The community is further advised to be on the lookout for price gouging vendors, which is any vendor offering any products or services that are offered at greater than 10% of their pre-emergency price. Please report any price gouging to the District Attorney’s Office by phone or through our website.
