Announcements and tabling arrangements were made with regard to the January 20, 2018 Santa Rosa rally. Commissioners attending marches in other parts of the state briefly discussed their plans. - Openings and Appointments– Blalock
Chair Blalock reported that there remains one vacancy in the 4th District, and that 1st District Commissioner Joanne M. Brown will be taking a two-month leave of absence to fill a temporary vacancy on the bench of the Sonoma County Superior Court. 3rd District Commissioner Jenny Whyte continues to be on a leave of absence. - Public Comment on Non-Agendized Items – BLALOCK

- Association of California Commissions on Women (ACCW) March Conference Update – Almond, Blalock, Diaz De Leon, Langdon – 5 Minutes Commissioners reported out on the status of plans for the March 23 & 24, 2018 ACCW conference hosted by the Commission. No action was taken.
- Ad Hoc & Project 2018 Update – Blalock – 10 Minutes
The Chair will ask each ad hoc and project committee to provide no more than a two minute status update.
Ad hoc committees:- Affordable Child Care – Priorities have shifted. Need to childcare providers exists in the County. Will present a more detailed update in February.

- Intimate Partner Violence – Screening of “The Mask” has been put on hold. No action was taken.
- Mental Health/Suicide – Agreed to language for bookmarkers; translations to Spanish pending; Langdon attended mental health first aid screening. No action was taken. Project committees:
- Junior Commissioner Project – Mentor check-in; will have more detailed update at February meeting. Need to know expectations for presentations in order to aid in Juniors preparation. Female volunteers needed for interviews to be published on the Facebook page – Women of Sonoma County – of the Empowering Women ad hoc. No action was taken.

- Legislative Affairs Report – 5 Minutes
(Barrera, Brown, Diaz De Leon, Fleming) Commissioners reported out on CA SB837 (Dodd) Universal Preschool – expands preschool to all four-year-olds in California. The liaisons requested a letter in support of this bill be sent to election officials in Sacramento.
Motion to approve the legislative affairs liaisons and the Chair to coordinate efforts on the draft of a letter in favor of SB837
