  1. CALL TO ORDER – INTRODUCTIONS – MISSION STATEMENT
  2. APPROVAL OF THE MAY 9, 2019 AGENDA
    Due to the requirements of the Brown Act, only changing the order of, or deletion of items may be allowed. New items may not be added.
  3. PUBLIC COMMENT ON AGENDIZED ITEMS

  4. COMMISSIONER ANNOUNCEMENTS
    Commissioners to provide any commission-related announcements, report on communications with supervisors and also announce any tabling opportunities.
  5. OPENINGS AND APPOINTMENTS
    1. Chair will report out on openings and swear in re-appointed Commissioners Padilla and Whyte.
  6. PUBLIC COMMENT ON NON-AGENDIZED ITEMS

  7. PRESENTATIONS
    Commissioners will hear from Jong Lee, Director of the Women’s Rights and Peace of Bay Area nonprofit, who has actively worked to spread understanding of the Korean community and heritage throughout the Bay Area. During the last four years, she has been a volunteer at Dominican University, teaching about and bringing awareness to the stories of the Korean Comfort Women through Korean drumming.

    Discussion and possible action on items 1 to 8.
    1. Report on Administrative ResponsibilitiesAlmond, Barrera, Whyte
      Officers will go over various administrative items.
    2. Roseland’s 4th Annual MochiladaDiaz de Leon and Wood
      Discussion and possible action to approve financial support of the Roseland 4th Annual Mochilada event in the amount of $500 or less.
    3. Code Red ProjectAlmond
      Discussion and possible action on support of launch of “Code Red Project” – May 28 “Menstrual Hygiene Day”.
    4. Budget ReviewAlmond, Barrera, Whyte
      Review of current budget and discussion and possible action on potential purchases from budget funds left over after accounting for already allocated funding.
    5. Social Media Post PolicyAll
      Discussion and possible action on approving the drafting of a possible guideline regarding the types of social media posts they believe should not be published or shared on CSW social media sites.
    6. Event Ticket PurchasesAlmond, Barrera, Whyte
      Discussion and possible action regarding a guideline or policy on the use of tickets for community events.
    7. By-Laws OverviewBarrera
      Discussion and possible action to approve the creation of a group of commissioners to review the current CSW by-laws and make recommendations for possible changes to the current by-laws.
    8. 2020 ProjectBrown
      Discussion of Brown’s idea of promotion of the 2020 project through CSW channels, including social media.
  9. AD HOC COMMITTEE AND PROJECT COMMITTEE UPDATES
    Commissioners to provide reports and/or updates from the work being done by their ad hoc committee(s) and/or project committee(s).

In order that all interested parties have an opportunity to speak, please be brief and limit your comments to the subject under discussion. Each person is usually granted 3 minutes to speak; time limitations are at the discretion of the Chair. While members of the public are welcome to address the Commission, under the Brown Act, Commission members may not deliberate or take action on items not on the agenda, and generally may only listen.
