Bodega Bay

Representatives

Brooks Rooney

BROOKS ROONEYContact: brooks.coastmac@gmail.com

Term: 3 years

Occupation: Retired

Community service experience: Bodega Bay Collaborative (Community Member), Bodega Bay Fisherman's Festival (Chairman, Vice Chairman)

Platform: I feel I am a strong facilitator and can help a committee or group come to a working consensus. Success of the SCC MAC is going to depend on getting separate communities to work for the "good of the whole." Through my involvement over the years in the Bodega Bay Community, I have come to know many of the residents.  We all share a love for our area and I want to make it a place where our residents can live in harmony with our many visitors in sharing the Sonoma Coast experience. I promise to work hard, utilize my experience and effective communication skills to successfully represent our community as the Bodega Bay MAC Representative.

Goal(s): As a member of the Bodega Bay Collaborative, I have been involved in the year-long discussion of how Bodega Bay can best be served on a County level. Now that we are moving forward with participation on the SCC MAC, I want to make sure this MAC gets off to a positive start and works effectively for both the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors and the Sonoma coastal communities.

Platform: As a MAC representative, I would keep a finger on the pulse of my community and welcome the opportunity to communicate with other MAC members about our common interests and concerns and finding possible solutions for consideration by the Board of Supervisors.

Goal(s): To have the Board of Supervisors actually listen to points and concerns our community is trying to get across. I have lived here for 42 years and it often feels like we aren't heard most of the time.
