Sonoma County Now Accepting Proposals for New Voting System

Request for Proposals

Deadline to Submit Proposals has Passed

Now that the deadline to submit proposals has passed, a committee of county staff with expertise in elections, computer and information systems, and budget evaluate the bids based on the vendor’s responses to a specific list of requirements in the RFP. The committee will select a winning proposal, then make a recommendation to the Board of Supervisors that the contract be awarded to the recommended (winning) proposal. A schedule of important dates is below.

The period to submit proposals closed at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 3, 2018.

The County of Sonoma is in the process of reviewing proposals for a comprehensive, modern voting system. The selected Respondent shall provide software, hardware, and implementation services and support for any or all categories listed below including training, maintenance, and warranties. The information provided by Respondents through this RFP will be evaluated and used in the selection of the County’s new Modern Voting System.

The County requested that Respondents propose a complete solution that clearly demonstrates how the County would be provided with the software, hardware, and implementation services and support that will best satisfy the County’s requirements. To ensure the availability of a fully functional and adequate voting system that meets the County’s timetable, any proposed voting system must be certified by the California Secretary of State (SOS) not later than July 1, 2018.

The County is reviewing proposed solutions to achieve its goal of implementing a new, comprehensive, and modern voting system after the 2018 general election cycle but within one year of awarding a contract to a successful proposer.
