Sonoma County Registrar of Voters
needs your help to work at the polls on March 7!
Published: January 20, 2017
The Sonoma County Registrar of Voters has announced there is a critical need for Precinct Officers for the upcoming March 7, 2017, Special Election.
A typical polling place has three to five members, with an Inspector in charge and additional Clerks to help. While there is a modest stipend ($135 plus mileage for Inspectors and $100 for other workers for the day), we consider the people who assist us to be critically needed volunteers.
The work is not difficult, but there is a lot to remember. A two hour training class is required of Inspectors and recommended for all other poll workers (Saturday and evening classes are available). All necessary supplies are also provided at the class. Because of this, Inspectors must bring their own
vehicles and be prepared to transport the supplies. Election Day begins at 6 a.m. and lasts until the polls close, all ballots are accounted for, and the ballots and supplies are delivered to one of the 14 return centers (roughly 9 to 10 p.m.).
Please, lend us a hand and take part in democracy. Ask a family member or friend to help. To volunteer your services, call
