Welcome to the summer 2016 edition of my Third District e-Newsletter. In this installment I share updates on our Aging Together Initiative, Women Entrepreneurs, Food Recovery and Food Security. All of these projects hold great promise as we address our shared goals for a healthier Sonoma County.

    I expect we all know innovative women who are working hard every day to keep Sonoma County businesses thriving and our great county moving forward. In recognition of the importance of small businesses to a robust economy the Board of Supervisors declared 2016 the Year of The Entrepreneur.

    Even in a prosperous community like ours, hunger and access to healthy food are pressing issues for some individuals and families. Solid waste disposal is another concern that has featured prominently in the news recently.
