Each year the Sonoma County Agricultural Commissioner releases a report on agricultural production in the county.
The reported total value for 2016 was $898,125,200, which represents a 17% increase from our 2015 value of $766,271,000. This report reflects only gross production values and does not represent or reflect net profit or loss experienced by individual growers or by the industry, or the costs associated with production and marketing.
Sonoma County is a beautiful place to live and farm. We are blessed to live in a county where farmers and the community alike embrace the concept of sustainable farming. The 2016 crop report celebrates the growers and those who support them in making sustainable farming a priority. This commitment to sustainable farming ensures that we conserve and protect our natural resources and that agriculture stays economically viable. Through these collective efforts we strive to maintain the agricultural landscape that makes Sonoma County such a desirable place for residents and visitors.
