    On August 27th, USDA announced the eradication of the European Grapevine Moth (Lobesia botrana, EGVM) in Solano and portions of Sonoma and Napa counties.

    The action is the result of significant progress to remove the pest through regulatory and eradication efforts, as well as the vigilance of growers and local communities.

    The Sonoma County Agricultural Commissioner, in cooperation with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA), announces the detection of a single male European Grapevine Moth (EGVM, Lobesia botrana) in the western portion of Sonoma County, near Cazadero. The moth was identified on Thursday, June 26th in a trap from a vineyard.
