Task Force, Ad Hoc and Workgroups

Task Forces or Ad Hoc Committees may be created for a limited time by the Council for the purpose of studying or working on any topic related to the mission of the Council.

Committee & Workgroup meetings may be scheduled on an “as needed” basis.

Elder Protection Workgroup

Through education and court advocacy Elder Protection Workgroup volunteers assist in providing elder abuse prevention education programs, presentations and conferences to the community and professionals. Volunteers also attend court hearings on elder abuse. This workgroup is a collaboration between the Area Agency Advisory Council, Adult Protective Services, the Family Justice Center, the Long Term Care Ombudsman program and other interested community partners. This group coordinates the annual World Elder Abuse Awareness Day activities.

Meets 1st Thursday of the month at 11 AM.

Training Day Workgroup

This workgroup determines the training day topic and coordinates details the annual August event.

The Housing Workgroup is comprised of Advisory Council and community members. The group explores possible solutions to the challenge of finding affordable, accessible housing in Sonoma County.

Meets 2st Thursday of the Month at 10 AM.

Nutrition Workgroup

The Nutrition Workgroup is comprised of Advisory Council and community members. This group seeks to develop creative solutions to food insecurity in the county.

Meets 2nd Thursday of the month at 10 AM.

Outreach Workgroup

The Outreach Workgroup oversees the variety of events council members attend each year and coordinates volunteer participants as needed. The group also reviews outreach materials and appropriate set up for events.
