Santa Rosa, CA – March 17, 2020 – The County of Sonoma Auditor-Controller-Treasurer-Tax Collector's office will temporarily close to the public beginning Tuesday, March 17, 2020 through Friday, April 3, in an effort to protect employees and the community by limiting person-to-person contact to reduce the spread of COVID-19. This closure period
may be extended if necessary.
Erick Roeser, the Sonoma County Auditor-Controller-Treasurer-Tax Collector, reminds taxpayers that property taxes are due April 10, 2020. Mr. Roeser said that State officials have not yet extended the due date as a result of COVID-19, and that neither the Board of
Supervisors nor the Tax Collector have the authority to extend property tax due dates.
“During tax installment time, our office assists over 1,000 in-person taxpayers daily” said Roeser. “We pride ourselves on providing excellent in-person customer service and regret that it is now necessary to close our office temporarily to help ensure public health and
safety. Please stay safe and make tax payments electronically or by mail.”
