HOME ARP Substantial Amendment and Hearing Notice

The Sonoma County Community Development Commission (Commission) proposes to amend the Sonoma County FY 2021-22 Annual Action Plan by modifying the Sonoma County HOME- ARP Allocation Plan (Allocation Plan). The Allocation Plan was adopted by the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors on March 14, 2023, and is a requirement of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for the use of $2,991,512 of federal HOME-ARP grant funds. La Comisión de Desarrollo Comunitario del Condado de Sonoma (Comisión) propone cambios a el Plan de Acción Anual del Año Fiscal 2021-22 del Condado de Sonoma al modificar el Plan de Rescate Americano de Asociaciones de Inversión HOME conocido como “HOME-ARP”. Board of Supervisors authorizes storm culvert, runway repair at Charles M. Schulz - Sonoma County Airport

The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors today approved plans to refurbish a section of runway pavement and replace a deteriorating culvert at Charles M. Schulz - Sonoma County Airport. County officials have been monitoring the runway following an annual inspection by the Federal Aviation Administration, which identified the need for repairs. In response, airport officials took immediate proactive measures to seal the affected areas to prevent further deterioration. Read full story

Notice of Intent to Request Release of Funds

On or about May 24, 2024 the Sonoma County Community Development Commission (SCCDC) will submit a request to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for the release of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) as authorized by the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, Title 1 (42 U.S.C. 5301 et seq.), to undertake a project known as L and M Village Parking Lot Rehabilitation proposed by the City of Healdsburg for the purpose of repaving the parking lot of an existing transitional housing site located at 70 Healdsburg Avenue, Healdsburg, CA 95448 with estimated funding of $200,000 of CDBG funds. The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors today approved a language access policy and implementation plan, in a commitment to improve access to County services for residents who do not speak English as their primary language or who do not speak any English. Sonoma County awards $14.8 million contract to build infrastructure for mixed-use development in Roseland

The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors today approved a $14.8 million contract with Ghilotti Construction Co. to build sewer lines, utilities, streets and other infrastructure to support the Tierra de Rosas mixed-use development in Roseland. Read full story

Sonoma County bans sale of e-cigarettes and flavored tobacco in unincorporated areas

The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors today voted to ban the sale of flavored tobacco products and e-cigarettes in unincorporated areas of the county. The changes to the county’s tobacco retail ordinance are in response to public health data that show e-cigarettes and flavored tobacco use increasing among high school-aged youth. Read full story
